-The antioxidants help neutralize free radicals and help protect cells from oxidative stress and DNA damage.

-Lowers blood pressure. Regular consumption improves endothelial function which relaxes blood vessels to naturally lower blood pressure.

-Improves insulin sensitivity, the bioactive compounds in the berries help metabolize glucose efficiently, lowering the risk of metabolic spikes and diabetes.

Smoothes muscle recovery. Eating blueberries before or after intense physical activity accelerates muscle repair by blunting local oxidative stress inflammation.

Nourishes the gut microbiome. Their specific prebiotic fibers and polyphenols feed the beneficial gut bacteria, boosting digestion and immune health.

What is the light blue waxy surface that rubs off?

It is a fine coating that the blueberry plant produces as a natural protective layer. It is mostly comprised of ursolic acid which acts mostly as an anti fungal, but it also helps lock in moisture and nutrients, as well as protection from the UV rays of the sun.

This light waxy surface can be rubbed off revealing a much darker berry underneath, but this layer helps keep the berry fresher longer so we don’t recommend it.
